There’s no excuse for not entering your creative or gardening efforts into the 169th Kiama Show, as this is the first year you can enter on-line before the cut-off date.
Until now it has been necessary to go to the Pavilion twice, once a few days before to enter and again to deliver for judging.
This has confused newcomers to the Show tradition, who thought they could turn up on delivery day without entering previously. It has also relied on people finding a copy of the all important Show Schedule to ponder the categories they could compete in.
The Schedule details the more than 1000 classes to be included in next year’s Kiama Show, including horse, cattle and woodchop classes, the pet show and rodeo, as well as the Pavilion classes.
In 2016, there were over 2000 entries in the more than 500 Pavilion categories, which cover everything from cut flowers and cakes, to vegetables and photography, so some people must have the old system down pat.
This is the last year that Pavilion entries will be free, with a $1 fee per entry being introduced in 2018 (to a maximum of $5 per entrant).
Entries in all categories except cut flowers need to be submitted by 5pm Tuesday 24 January. Cut flower entries need to be submitted by noon on Thursday 26 January.
