Looking forward to the new premises: Dr Russell Pearson, Bonnie McArthur, Rachael Lawrence, Helen Prince, Dr Ann Shippers, Dr Jacqueline Sloan, Dr John McAlpine and Dr Alison Croft
The doctors and staff of Gerringong’s longest established medical practice are looking forward to operating from their purpose-built medical centre in Greta St from 23 March.
Dr Russell Pearson launched the Gerringong Family Medical Practice from his home 40 years ago, and was joined shortly after by Dr John McAlpine and Dr Robyn Dalley.
“It is wonderful that these three founding doctors are still with us when we move into our new home,” says Dr Jacqueline Sloan.
“It has been a dream of theirs for some time.”
Space constraints in their Belinda Street location have restricted the growth of the practice and the allied services it can offer.
“We just couldn’t fit anyone else in,” says Dr Sloan.
“With more consulting rooms our existing doctors will be able to extend their availability and we will be able to offer more specialist services.”
A podiatrist and a specialist sport & exercise physician, Dr George Pitsis, are the first new members of the team.
The new building has large treatment and nurse areas for procedures and emergencies, and there is a lift from the underground carpark.
Southern Pathology is also relocating from Fern St to an office within the building.
