Gerringong kickstarts the car show year

Last year’s show

Gerringong Lions Club is preparing for its annual Motor Fest/Car Show to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Research.

So far they have registered over 330 vehicles, a mixture of classic and collectible vehicles of every description – hot rods, modern and exotic, performance and trikes.

The Rural Fire Service will have a fire truck on display, as well as a NSW Police pursuit vehicle being there.

As usual, food and coffee outlets will be on site, in addition to displays by Shannons Insurance, Prized Pieces Collectables and Memorabilia (including die cast models).

Local musician Kevin Sullivan, fresh from the Tamworth Country Music Festival, will be performing from 11-noon.

A Prostate Cancer Research ambassador will be on site to answer questions and provide promotional material.

As well as section winners being chosen, everyone will be able to vote in the People’s Choice award.

Anyone wishing to know more about the event should contact Lions via Keith Watson on 0401 777 130 or Richard Barber 0438 678 882.

Details: Saturday 15 February, Michael Cronin Oval, Blackwood St, Gerringong, from 9am. $5 per person; under 12 free
