Councillor Matt Brown has returned to his role at Council after an absence following his guilty plea to drug charges in a Qld Court.
An independent party has been appointed by Council to conduct a Code of Conduct investigation into the behaviour. Recommendations will be made to Council as to what action should be taken. When the report is finalised, Councillor Brown will have 28 days to respond.
Speaking to The Bugle after the meeting, Cllr Brown said he was unaware of the inquiry and that his recovery is going well.
“I am taking one day at a time. I am thankful for the support I am getting from the community and its leaders. I still have a contribution to make.”
