An confidential extraordinary meeting of Council has rescinded a motion at its May Meeting, which made it possible for developer Nick Daoud to apply for a final extension of time to gain approval for his Akuna St/Mitre 10 development.
Without this extra time, it appears the developer will not have an approved development by the date needed for the sale of the Council-owned property to him to go through.
Our next issue will report on the ramifications of this decision, which was announced too late for this edition.
