Minnamurra Public School’s participation in The World’s Greatest Shave has raised over $6000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The whole school had a Crazy Hair Mufti Day, bringing gold coin donations, then at noon 11 students and one teacher shaved their hair. Some of them felt a little bit nervous, at the thought of shaving their hair, but all of the students were smiling by the end of it.
Two students were able to cut off long lengths of hair. These will be donated and woven into wigs for people who didn’t choose to lose their hair.
One of the students who shaved their hair is in remission from hepatoblastoma (liver cancer).
The students and staff enjoyed supporting this great cause and there was such a positive atmosphere at Minnamurra Public School. We can continue fundraising until June, so feel free to sponsor us! You can find us on The World’s Greatest Shave page, as the Minnamurra PS team
