The Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward, says he is working behind the scenes to present the best case he can against the amalgamation.
“I have said right from the beginning that I believe our communities are very, very different,” he says. “I encourage people to get involved in the process by registering to speak to the Delegate at the public hearings. Keep to the ten heads of consideration that exist in the Local Government Act so that the Delegate will consider your submissions.
“We need to give the Delegate the evidence in a methodical, rational and sensible way. We need to do everything we can to present the most cogent sensible case.”
