Demystifying solar: find out what questions to ask suppliers

solarAre you keen to go solar but like to know more from an expert (who isn’t a salesperson) before committing? The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and Kiama Municipal Council are hosting a free information evening in Kiama to outline how businesses and homeowners can financially benefit now from current systems and rebates.

Lisa Miller, from OEH, will lead the seminar designed to explain the different options people have to go solar and save money on their electricity bills.

“The seminar will help people make an informed decision by explaining in plain-English the different types of solar technology available and the trends in solar power use in Australia and around the world,” Ms Miller said.

“We know that businesses and households often get unsolicited approaches from companies wanting to install solar panels and while most people agree that solar is a good thing, it’s hard to compare these offers.

“At the seminar you’ll find out the exact questions you should ask suppliers if you are thinking about installing solar panels.

“People who come to this free seminar will leave with a much clearer understanding as to whether solar is right for them and be in a better position to seek and compare quotes from the market”.

OEH is running the ‘Demystifying Solar’ seminars right across South East NSW to provide expert and independent advice on solar power to help people make the best choice for their circumstances.

Location: Kiama Pavilion, 2 Bong Bong Street, Kiama.
Time: 5.45pm for a 6pm start, finishing at 7.15pm.
The seminar is free, but bookings must be made with OEH via 4224 4184 or rog.illawarra@environment.nsw.gov.au
